Inspired by his love of sport and the need to fund his ’semi-professional’ road cycling career, Paul Blanchette joined Arc’teryx in 1999 and has spent the past two decades developing within the company and serving as a key member of the executive team that has grown sales in excess of 100 times. Today as Senior Director Finance, Paul oversees all aspects of Arc’teryx Global finance as well as performing director and officer roles.
During his tenure at Arc’teryx, Paul has been instrumental in furthering the company’s commitment to Canadian manufacturing and talent development as he previously also managed Human Resources. He oversaw the transition from
privately owned through two major publicly traded multinational acquisitions and has a proven track record of leadership during this period of ongoing, rapid growth. His passion for helping people succeed and a strong belief in mentorship is the foundation for his approach to teamwork. Paul also serves on the Senior Leadership Team.
A Chilliwack, BC local, Paul is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a diploma of Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to Arc’teryx, he worked in the cycling industry in manufacturing, wholesale, distribution and retail organizations within purchasing, product, and store management roles.
Today, Paul is an avid cyclist, recent motorcycle rider, and regularly attempts to find balance in yoga classes. He is the founder and a current board member of the DC Bank Pro Cycling Team. Paul lives in Vancouver with his fiance Louisa and their two dogs Casey and Grayson. The pack can usually be found bounding along in their Westfalia en route to their next outdoor adventure.
