Inspired by his love of the outdoors, Lance Richardson joined Arc’teryx in 1996 and has spent the past two decades developing within the company and serving as a member of a team that has grown sales in excess of 100 times. Today as Vice President of Operations, Lance oversees all manufacturing and general operations at the company’s headquarters in North Vancouver, Canada. His role keeps him involved in all aspects of business: finance, human resources, product management, product development, international expansion and brand strategy. Lance also serves on the Senior Leadership Team.
During his tenure at Arc’teryx, Lance has been instrumental in furthering the company’s commitment to Canadian manufacturing and talent development. Previous to his role in operations, he served as Vice President of Business Development, where he was responsible for increasing and stabilizing company margins, leading Arc’teryx to a five percent gain in operating margin and developing the Law Enforcement and Armed Forces (LEAF) and Veilance business units.
A Vancouver local, Lance received his BA, Economics in 1993 from the University of British Columbia and his Masters, Economics in 1995 from Queen’s University.
Today, Lance is an active skier, competitive mountain biker and bike racer. He has done the grueling Test of Metal seven times, competed three times in the Whistler Gran Fondo, and most recently has taken up endurance mountain bike racing with his son. He resides with his wife and two teenage children in Port Moody, BC where his family has access to some of British Columbia’s best trails just outside their doorstep.
