Based in North Vancouver B.C., Canada, Arc’teryx is a global design and manufacturing company specializing in technical high-performance outerwear and equipment.

The company began manufacturing harnesses in 1989 under the name “Rock Solid.” The focus was single-minded: design the lightest, best performing and highest quality products available.

By 1998, founders Dave Lane and Jeremy Guard changed Rock Solid to Arc’teryx, a name that better reflected the brand’s evolutionary approach to product innovation. In a short time, Arc’teryx was recognized as a leader in the outdoor industry.

We are located at the base of the Coast Mountain Range, where the rugged wilderness and unpredictable weather act as both the inspiration and testing ground for new ideas. Vancouver is also home to our design centre and factory, ARC’One. Operating our own factory in our backyard is a vital and unique advantage that plays a key role in challenging design and manufacturing assumptions.

Arc’teryx maintains its position at the forefront of the industry with the ongoing evolution of products like the iconic Alpha SV Jacket, and with proprietary technologies like the WaterTight™ zipper, micro seam technology, Tri-Dex™ glove construction, and Warp Strength™ harnesses. New technologies include the Procline rotating ski boot cuff and the RotoGlide™ hipbelt on our Bora backpacks.

Arc’teryx has also moved beyond the traditional confines of outerwear and equipment. Veilance takes the brand’s trademark minimalist design and superior materials to create products specifically geared to the needs of the urban man. Arc’teryx LEAF (Law Enforcement Armed Forces) provides technical apparel and equipment solutions that are purpose-built to meet the unique and demanding operational requirements of specialized military, government and law enforcement end users.

A division of Amer Sports, which is a publicly traded company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, Arc’teryx continues its phenomenal growth with over 1,000 global employees, product distribution in more than 3,000 retail locations across 40 countries worldwide and 32 branded stores in Europe, North America and Asia.
